Going to the market

Today we went to the market in Samatan. We went into a big shed and saw lots of ducks and chickens. I wanted to bring a chicken home as Daddy likes pets. Mummy said I couldn't have one. The animals were very cute. We took some photos but got told off by a grumpy French lady who held up a no camera sign and frowned at us - oops!

Then, we went outside and looked at all the beautiful market stalls. We found a nice cafe but they didn't have coke so I had to have fanta instead.

The society for the protection of animals was there and I was allowed to pat the kids.

Mummy at the market.

All the yummy things that we bought.

The Three Billy Goats Gruff

Today I made a diorama from an old shoebox and some marionettes for the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff.  Mum and I had lots of fun trying to work out how to make the puppets!

We then used the puppets to perform our play.  I liked being the grumpy old troll even though the big billy goat gruff tossed me off the bridge.

The Three little pigs

I am learning about fairy tales and one of my favourites is the three little pigs.  Today Mum and I made sock puppets and then acted it out.  We had lots of fun.  The wolf was very silly.

Pot au Feu

Today we are making a traditional French stew called a pot au feu.

These are the veggies!

Here is everything that has to fit in the pot. We even got beef tail!

It's a tight squeeze! Now we let it simmer for around 3 hours, maybe even a little more. Tonight, we will have a French dinner!

Next we decided to make our favourite apple crumble!

Tess mixing the crumble.

The work space. We've been cooking a lot here :)

Working hard!

The crumble is ready to be spread, yum!

I love apple crumble!!!

Looking good!

Tonight dinner is going to be delicious, and I can't wait :)
